Profile

I have been practicing and enjoying yoga for thirteen years now but only began to get more deeply into it in the last two years or so. Initially I started practicing yoga to release tension and stress in my life (which it did). I then noticed the effect it had it in giving me a sense of groundedness and well-being and in strengthening and toning my body and improving my posture so that my body felt like a nicer place to inhabit than before. This year I graduated from the Samadhi teacher training programme with Greg Walsh and Nikki Cousins, who have been guides in my yoga practice. I have tried various styles but have been continually drawn to the variety and sense of focus and flow I have found in practicing with teachers in the Vinyasa style, particularly in the classes of Rohan Hennessy. In yoga I alternately love dynamic and strength-building poses as well as nurturing, calming restorative poses. I am really enjoying learning more about yoga and through yoga and being able to explore the practice with my students. Qualification: 2010 – 2011: 250 hours at Samadhi Yoga School. RYS 200 Experience: Currently teaching two regular vinyasa style classes at beginner/improver level at The Olive Tree in Portobello and in Skerries at the Skerries Community Centre. Miscellaneous: As well as maintaining a strong self-practice I am continually attending classes with Dave Curtis and occassionally with Natalya Lee and Elena Moreno amongst others. I attended a 5 day intensive workshop with Donna Fahri focusing on the core in October 2011.
