Profile

Claudia teaches dynamic hatha yoga, also known as Vinyasa Flow, paying special attention to safety and alignment. The term ‘vinyasa’ is often used to describe a broad range of yoga styles and can be translated from its root words \'Nyasa\' denoting \"to place\" and \'vi\' denoting \"in a special way.\" You will find that Vinyasa is a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, where postures are linked together using breath. Classes can be challenging so it is important that the student recognizes that every body is different and there can be a whole variety of things going on emotionally and physically at any given moment. Therefore, everybody\'s practice is different and can also change daily. Challenge yourself in class but listen to your body. As \'Yogis\' we strive to be truthful with ourselves and avoid trying to mold ourselves to social or external expectations. Our bodies are complex and intelligent; we have to trust the signals that they give us and \"listen to the body\'s whispers before they become shouts\".
