Profile

Matt was teaching Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga at Aware Yoga in Ware for a number of years. His Hatha classes are based on the Himalayan style, with particular emphasis on the use of breath to relax and energise the body, and careful use of joints and glands type exercises as taught by Swami Rama of the Himalayas to mobilise the body in preparation for the more dynamic section of the class. The Ashtanga Vinyasa is taught in the method as promoted by Sri Manju Pattabis Jois, the son of the founder, who, together with Denise Martin Harker have been Matt\'s main teachers. When Aware closed at the end of June 2013 Matt transferred his classes over to the beautiful Dance Studio of Chauncy School in Ware, where he teaches Tuesday and Thursday evenings. He has been teaching his Wednesday evening class at Mill Mead School for over three years now. Matt is continuing to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at his smaller private studio attached to his house in Waltham Cross on Wednesday mornings. Please contact him to arrange your first class.
