Mother & Baby Yoga
Description / Notes: Yumi Yoga’s Mother and Baby Yoga classes are loads of fun! They are specially designed to aid mum’s postnatal recovery whilst engaging, bonding and relaxating with their baby. Specifically we look at helping mum to regain strength in the body along with finding ways to open areas of tightness and find space for relaxation. We explore postures and practices mum's can do with and without their babies so they can easily continue their practice at home. We run our classes in the form of 6-week rolling terms, focusing on various techniques which we explore and develop week by week. Our classes are informal and relaxed, allowing the opportunity to feed, change, comfort or soothe your baby to sleep whenever necessary. It’s a wonderful environment to meet new mums or reconnect with old friends from our Pregnancy Yoga classes. Dynamic Yoga
Description / Notes: Yumi Yoga’s Dynamic Flow Yoga classes are designed to capture the essence of yoga. Based on the principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, we practise a continuous, flowing sequence of postures co-ordinating each movement with the breath. We structure the classes as 6-week rolling terms, with a different theme every term. Week by week we adapt and add postures so there is a familiarity to the flow, but no two classes are the same. The nature of the continuous flow ensures each student benefits from a dynamic practice. We offer adjustments and modifications throughout the class to ensure all students enjoy the practice at their own pace. Benefits of Dynamic Flow Yoga include: • improving strength and stamina throughout the body • improving mobility: joints, ligaments & tendons are supported and muscles are toned and strengthened. • cleansing and regulating the body’s systems (including skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous & digestive) • increasing flexibility and improving postural alignment • focusing the mind and encouraging stillness • reduces stress and increases the ability to relax • encourages balance and harmony between body, breath and mind Teacher Info Map
